Report: Jose Fernandez to pitch in extended spring training Monday

Miami Marlins pitcher Jose Fernandez's rehab from Tommy John surgery continues to progress.
USA TODAY Sports reported Tuesday that the former NL Rookie of the Year is slated to begin participating in extended spring training next Monday.

Coming off of his ROY season, Fernandez experienced elbow discomfort in May of last year, which an MRI revealed to be a torn UCL that would require Tommy John surgery.
His recovery from the surgery has been going smoothly so far, and he's expected to return to the Marlins before the All-Star break.
