The Philadelphia Phillies have re-signed backup catcher Brian Schneider to a one-year contract, worth $800,000.
Schneider, who can earn an additional $200,000 in performance bonuses, batted .176 with two homers and nine RBIs in 41 games. The Phillies were 28-8 in games he started, including a 19-game winning streak from May 7 to Sept. 6.
