Indians' Gomes, House head to Columbus to continue rehab assignments
Cleveland Indians catcher Yan Gomes and pitcher TJ House are one step closer to rejoining the big league club.
Both Gomes and House will join Triple-A Columbus to continue their rehab assignments on Monday. Gomes is expected to start and Catch for the Clippers in their series opener against Buffalo Monday, while House is scheduled to start for Columbus on Wednesday.
Gomes and House began their rehab assignment with Class-A Lake County on Friday, where they both looked sharp. Gomes went 2-for-4 at the dish and caught three innings for House, who struck out five in three scoreless innings for the Clippers.
In an interview with MLB Network Radio on Sunday, GM Chris Antonetti said he expects to have Yan Gomes back on the active major-league roster in the next 10-14 days. House will be evaluated after his rehab start on Wednesday and could rejoin the Indians by the end of the week.
