Giants lefty Matt Moore brutally loses no-hitter with one out to go
Matt Moore was one out away from his first career no-hitter in his fifth game with the San Francisco Giants.
He had tossed 132 pitches over 8 2/3 innings, walking three and striking out seven. He made a good pitch on Dodgers shortstop Corey Seager, jamming him inside with a fastball.
And yet ...
SOOOO CLOSE!!!

It's the most brutal way possible to lose a no-no, a blooper with two outs in the ninth inning.
In his first four starts since being acquired by the Giants at the trade deadline, Moore struggled mightily, allowing 12 earned runs in 23 innings while walking 17. A no-hitter would have been the perfect way to turn things around. Sigh.
The good news is Moore's 133 pitches weren't for nothing, as the Giants still beat the Dodgers, 4-0, picking up a much needed game in the standings after losing the first two games of the series to L.A. San Francisco now trails L.A. by two games in the NL West, and the clubs will meet six more times in September.
