Astros, Albers complete $2.45M, 1-year deal

The Astros have finalized a $2.45 million, one-year contract with right-handed reliever Matt Albers.

The 30-year-old Albers gets $2.25 million next season under Tuesday's agreement, and Houston has a $3 million option for 2015 with a $200,000 buyout.

He 6-2 in 119 appearances over the last two seasons with a 2.77 ERA, including 3-1 with a 3.14 ERA in 56 appearances for Cleveland this year

A Houston native, Albers made his major league debut with the Astros in 2006 and was traded to Baltimore the following year. He has also played for Boston, Arizona and Cleveland.
