What the addition of Trevor Knight means for Texas A&M
As reported on Monday, former Oklahoma quarterback Trevor Knight will transfer to Texas A&M for his senior season. He will be immediately eligible to play for Kevin Sumlin and the Aggies.

The addition of Knight is a significant one for a number of reasons.
Texas A&M's top-two quarterbacks -- Kyle Allen and Kyler Murray -- have both transferred from the program. It left Texas A&M with junior college transfer Jake Hubenak, and four walk-on quarterbacks. In five games of limited action this year, Hubenak threw for 399 yards and three touchdowns.
Knight will instantly vie for the starting gig -- and appears to be the odds-on favorite to win the job. He's surely the most battle-tested quarterback on the roster, having a ton of starting experience at a high level.
From a skill-set standpoint, Knight can do a myriad of things. While he won't conjure up memories of Johnny Manziel darting away from defenders in spectacular fashion, Knight's mobility is a positive trait. He's also proven to be dynamic when throwing the ball down the field.
More than anything, Knight offers stability to a team in desperate need of some. It's been a tumultuous year in College Station -- punctuated by a disappointing win-loss record, unexpected transfers, and the letting go of a top assistant coach.
With his experience and leadership qualities, Knight looks ready to take on the challenge of leading Texas A&M in 2016.
