Strong week with the wide receivers in my college football fantasy picks.

Week 5 of the college football season was another one for the books, last second field goals, fourth down stands, blowouts, and top ten match ups. From a fantasy standpoint there were some ups and downs regarding my picks from last week.

QB

Austin Appleby did not have the week I had expected after a good performance against Tennessee. Appleby only threw for 144 yards and no touchdowns, good for only 5.66 fantasy points on FanPicks.

My other play at quarterback had a slightly better week statistically. Quinton Flowers racked up 196 passing yards, as well as 74 rushing yards to go along with 2 touchdowns on the ground. Leading the Bulls to a 45-20 win over Cincinnati and racking up 27.24 fantasy points.

Rodney Smith, my first pick at running back was a score away from having a big day fantasy wise. Smith ran for 104 yards on 23 carries, picking up his 100 yard point bonus, but failed to reach the end zone as Shannon Brooks had the only rushing touchdown of the game for the Golden Gophers.

My next pick at running back was an exact opposite case. Curtis Samuel didn’t run for 100 yards, or catch 100 yards worth of passes. He did however come just short of 100 in both while catching 7 passes and finding the end zone once, good for 28.4 fantasy points.

    WR

The receiver’s discussed in last week’s video were easily the best picks of the week and led a couple of my lineups to high scores. Notre Dame’s Equanimeous St. Brown only caught 4 passes in a win over Syracuse. Two of those catches however were for touchdowns, and all four totaled 182 yards, good for 37.2 fantasy points.

Ju Ju Smith-Schuster had an even bigger game for USC against Arizona State. Smith-Schuster caught 7 passes for 123 yards, while 3 of them went for touchdowns. This stat line grabbed 40.3 fantasy points.
