Mack, who announced his decision at a recruiting camp in Fort Wayne, is the No. 1-rated prospect in Indiana and the No. 2 receiver in the Midwest according to Scout.com.

Listed 6-foot-2 and 205 pounds, he could be another physical outside receiver for Meyer's power spread offense.

Mack told Scout's Anna Hickey Ohio State is the best fit for him and cited "probably the guarantee to play for the national championship" among his reasons for picking the Buckeyes.

"They say that you're not supposed to choose a school based on a coach, but with Urban Meyer, you have a lot of positives," Mack said. "He has so many connections, in football and outside of it."

Mack's other finalists were Tennessee, Michigan and Notre Dame.

He is Ohio State's 16th commitment for the 2016 class and the ninth from outside Ohio.

Though not known as a state deep in high school football talent, Indiana has been home to one Ohio State recruit in each of the past six years.

According to Scout recruiting analyst Allen Trieu, Mack is not going to sit back and see what Meyer can do to fill out the rest of the 2016 class. He has already started helping his future coach collect talent, including working on Rashan Gary, a New Jersey defensive tackle rated the No. 1 overall prospect in the country. Mack is rated No. 86 overall, and he is one of six members of Scout's Top 100 to have pledged for the Buckeyes, who have the No. 1 class in the country at this point.
