The Tennessee Volunteers continue to lock down the talent of the Volunteer State as the highest rated linebacker in the state of Tennessee Daniel Bituli gave his commitment to the Vols 2016 recruiting class Saturday.

Bitui is rated as a four-star prospect by 247Sports and has an extensive list of suitors including Auburn, Florida, LSU, Ole Miss, Notre Dame and Ohio State.

The Nashville area linebacker spoke to Inside Tennessee following his commitment and broke down why he chose the Vols over so many other excellent options.

“My parents loved it there,” Bituli said. “I really liked it on top of that. My parents ended up loving it. So that helped with the decision. It’s an in-state school. It’s close to home. I love it there and the coaches.”

One coach particularly stood out to Bituli, his future head coach in Knoxville Butch Jones.

“He’s a really good man,” Bituli said of Jones. “He’s a really good coach. He sees great potential in me. We’ll just have to work together to become something great.”

Tennessee's recruiting class now stands at 13 total commitments with Bituli becoming the second linebacker joining fellow in-state talent Tim Hart on the Vols' list. If the Vols can land a few of the elite prospects still on their board, expect the team to once again land a top 10 nationally ranked recruiting class come signing day.
