Report: Melvin Gordon visiting team with No. 3 pick

The Jacksonville Jaguars reportedly will bring in Melvin Gordon, one of the top two running backs in the 2015 draft class, for a visit.
Another team bringing RB Melvin Gordon in for a pre-draft visit: the #Jaguars ;, who currently hold the 3rd and 36th picks.

The Jaguars currently hold the third and 36th picks in the NFL Draft, so they could be looking at Gordon for the latter. Almost all scouts, however, view Gordon as a first-round talent; the chances he'll be on the board for the 36th pick are slim. The Jags do need a feature back with only Toby Gerhart and Dennard Robinson on the roster to carry the ball. Both are nice players but not reliable as true workhorses.
The Badgers superstar had a great college career capped by an amazing 2014 season in which he rushed for 2,587 yards and 29 touchdowns, good enough for a second-place finish in the Heisman voting. He tested fine at the combine as well, backing up his stellar collegiate play.
It will be interesting to see if the Jags have the guts to take a running back third overall, what with the declining value of running backs in today's NFL and the depth at the position in this draft class.
