Louisville Football: Things Are Going Downhill Fast For Jets' Calvin Pryor

We take a look at some harsh words about former Louisville football player Calvin Pryor after the Jets’ loss to the Dolphins.
Not only have the New York Jets been struggling this season, but former Louisville football player Calvin Pryor has as well. The Jets defense as been giving up way too many big plays this season in the passing game, which is a huge reason why they haven’t been able to win many football games in 2016.
In the National Football League, when you don’t consistently win, people start to take notice and take names.
Here is what Pro Football Focus had to say about Pryor after the Jets’ loss to the Miami Dolphins last Saturday night:
“Pryor, the Jets former first-round safety was an absolute mess with his pursuit angles against the shifty Dolphins receivers. He started by overrunning a dig route to DeVante Parker on a key third down on the Dolphins first scoring drive. Then he fell on his face on yet another route coming across this middle, this time from Jarvis Landry, on a 31-yard catch and run on the Dolphins first scoring drive in the third quarter. Pryor capped it off by being unable to chase down Landry again running a slant across his face when he was playing middle of the field safety.”
Unfortunately for Pryor, he just doesn’t look fast enough to compete at a high-level this season. He struggled to contain Jarvis Landry and DeVante Parker last Saturday night, but this hasn’t been the only time he hasn’t been productive in ’16.
It’s been a season full of ups-and-downs for the former Louisville football player.
With that being said, Pryor is still in the middle of his four-year contract with the Jets, therefore there shouldn’t be a concern over if they would cut him or not. However, it’s not outside of the realm of possibility that his replacement could be coming into the organization very soon.
