Former Louisville football player Eli Rogers made his return to the Steelers on Sunday. We discuss how he did below.

Eli Rogers, a former receiver from the Louisville football program, made his first start back from being injured on Sunday afternoon against the Miami Dolphins. Rogers turned a lot of heads this offseason by his great play in the slot and especially earned the respect of fellow receiver Antonio Brown and quarterback Ben Roethlisberger.

Eli Rogers started the 2016 season off great with a touchdown catch against the Washington Redskins, but hurt his toe a few weeks later and was forced to sit over the course of two weeks. The good news is that Rogers was able to play today against Miami, but the bad news is that the Steelers’ played horrible.

The Dolphins who are 2-4 on the season, beat the Steelers who are 4-2 after a loss to Miami. It might just be the upset of the NFL weekend and Rogers wasn’t able to help out the Steelers enough to win.

The Steelers’ offense never got going as quarterback Ben Roethlisberger was sacked twice and was hit six different times. If you don’t have time to throw the football, then your offense isn’t going to play very well. Unfortunately for Rogers, that impacted his production as well.

Rogers finished the game with 5 targets and 4 receptions for 35 yards.

The Steelers are going to have to figure out things fast because they have to play the 5-1 New England Patriots next Sunday.
