Les Miles shares message, well wishes for ailing LSU mascot 'Mike the Tiger'
When the news broke that LSU’s live mascot, Mike VI, has a rare form of cancer, the Tigers and SEC community was heartbroken.
Arkansas, a rival of LSU’s, sent Mike flowers and a note from the school’s mascot, Tusk.
Texas Longhorns mascot, Bevo XV, did the same.
On Thursday, head coach Les Miles shared a message for Mike on Twitter, wishing him well in his battle with cancer. Mike has been given one to two years to live with consistent treatment.
I'm thinking about my buddy Mike as he goes through a tough time...I know he will fight like an LSU Tiger !!!LM pic.twitter.com/KEQIeyUrrz

Mike the Tiger has been one of the most recognizable live mascots in all of sports. He’s held the title since 2007. The team taking care of Mike hopes to prolong his life as he would likely only have one to two months to live without treatment.
