Former Louisville football players in action on NFL Sunday

Today was the first NFL Sunday of the season. We take a look at how former Louisville football players finished in their games this afternoon.
What an exciting time to be a Louisville football fan. The Cardinals are set to take on the second ranked team in the country next Saturday in Florida State. It’s one of the biggest games that the program has had in a while, therefore Bobby Petrino will surely have his team ready to go.
In the mean time, we take a look at how former Louisville football players are doing in their present professional endeavors.
It was a great afternoon of NFL football so far and we still gave another couple of games to go before the games are over. The Louisville football program had a bunch of NFL Players in action throughout the day. Let’s take a look at how a few of them finished in their games from today.
Bilal Powell (New York Jets):
Lorenzo Mauldin (New York Jets):
Gary Barnidge (Cleveland Browns):
Preston Brown (Buffalo Bills):
It wasn’t the best of days for former Louisville football players. Obviously the injury to Minnesota Vikings quarterback Teddy Bridgewater trumps any bad game that a person could have this year. However, it still wasn’t a great day for former Cardinals.
Preston Brown easily had the best day of any of them. He is one of the NFL’s rising stars and people need to be paying attention to his game. Be on the lookout for Brown because he is on his way to having a Pro Bowl caliber season for the Buffalo Bills.
Another surprising stat from today was Brown’s tight-end Gary Barnidge. He had zero catches on only two targets from former Heisman Trophy winner Robert Griffin III. After having his first 1,000 season last year, it’s pretty disspointing to see a performance last today’s.
Be sure to watch the Pittsburgh Steelers tomorrow night on ESPN to see how much of a role that wide receiver Eli Rogers will play in Todd Haley’s offense this coming season.
