Divinity enjoys the home cooking: In-state linebacker commits to LSU

LSU has a longstanding history of local prospects going on to star on the collegiate level in Baton Rouge. 

Leonard Fournette leads the current crop of in-state players doing exceptionally well at the university. Head coach Les Miles hopes this trend can continue with 2016 linebacker prospect Michael Divinity. 

The Rivals.com 4-star out of John Ehret High School in Marrero, La., committed to LSU late on Sunday night. An outside linebacker, Divinity opted to stay close to home over the likes of Ole Miss, Oklahoma, Oregon, Tennessee, UCLA, and a host of other institutions. 

Divinity is stout enough to do well against the run, and has the rangy capabilities of covering smaller players in space. In terms of a comparison, he's eerily similar to UCLA linebacker Myles Jack in terms of his athletic ability.

With this sort of versatility, he appears to be a perfect fit in the SEC.
