Clemson Football Oculus Bans All Louisville Talk Until Friday

Published Jun. 30, 2017 6:28 p.m. ET

Many Clemson football fans are beginning to look ahead to the Louisville match-up next week, but we need to take a step back and focus on Georgia Tech.

There has been more talk in Clemson football circles about Louisville to this point in the week than Georgia Tech.

Many Tiger fans are already chalking up the Yellow Jackets as a win and looking ahead to a top-five match-up with the Cardinals in Death Valley in two weeks.

There are many reasons to be excited for this match-up.

It was announced today that the game will be nationally televised on ABC at 8 p.m. A night game in Death Valley is always something to look forward to.

College GameDay has also said that, assuming the two teams win this weekend, they will be making the trip down to Clemson for the match-up.

Unfortunately, Clemson football fans, this isn’t Louisville week and the Oculus reminded us of that today.

One of the best ways to mess up the Louisville game is to overlook Georgia Tech this Thursday.

Paul Johnson and the Yellow Jackets have done a great job against the Tigers in Atlanta over the last decade and a half.

That’s right, Clemson football fans. The Tigers have not won in Atlanta since 2003. That is a long time.

It’s also hard to go to Bobby Dodd Stadium on a Thursday night and win for anybody.

My point being: Let’s be excited for a top-five match-up between Louisville and Clemson in just 12 days, but let’s focus on Georgia Tech for the time being.

We will have more updates, analysis, and opinions heading into Clemson football’s game against Georgia Tech on Thursday and, make no mistake, we have some great content ahead for the match-up against Louisville coming up.
