Alabama Football A-Day Countdown: Best Bama #74 of All Time

Updated Mar. 4, 2020 9:14 p.m. ET

The Alabama Football Countdown to A-Day continues with the best Bama player to ever wear number 74; the big man protecting the blind side Cam Robinson.

A few short years ago Cam Robinson was a 5 star recruit out of Monroe, Louisiana headed to Tuscaloosa with yet another #1 recruiting class. Today he is an anchor on the Alabama Football offensive line. Dependable. Consistent. Dominant.

He’s only allowed 3 sacks over 861 snaps in his 3 year career wearing crimson and white. Take into consideration that he started at the all important left tackle position as a Freshman, the only player to do so since Andre Smith in 2006, and that number is even more amazing. Robinson’s effort that year was recognized with Freshman All American honors.

Cam Robinson is a mismatch for any defender on a line that blocked for Heisman Trophy winning running back Derrick Henry. He has never played a season for Alabama Football that didn’t end in a Championship. He won a National Championship with the Crimson Tide in 2015 against Clemson and 3 SEC championships in a row.

Check out these big knock down blocks and highlights from Cam Robinson.

Cam Robinson has pushed thousands of pounds of opponents around hundreds of times in his 3 year Alabama Football career.

More from Bama Hammer

He won the Outland Trophy in 2016 which is awarded to the best college football interior lineman by the Football Writers Association of America. He earned it. In 2016  Cam Robinson was a big part of the blocking scheme of an Alabama team traditionally known for defense that ranked first in SEC scoring offense averaging 38.8 points per game.

Cam Robinson made his official announcement that he will be heading to the NFL draft this season after receiving a first round grade according to a report by Michael Casagrande in a report for AL.com

Good luck Cam. Thanks for the hardware. Roll Tide!
