Jay Cousinard scored a career-best 26 points and Spencer Johnson snagged a double-double to help Missouri-Kansas City cruise to an 82-64 win over SIU-Edwardsville on Wednesday night.

Johnson scored 11 points and pulled down a career-high 14 rebounds for his second double-double of the season and 10th of his career.

The Kangaroos (4-0) pulled ahead quickly in the first half, shooting 50 percent from the field and leading 47-27 at the break. They were up by as many as 25 points early in the second half.

Trinity Hall helped out UMKC with a career-high 12 points while Reggie Chamberlain added 10.

Nikola Bundalo led the Cougars (1-4) with 16 points and seven rebounds. Corey Wickware added 14 points and grabbed eight boards.

The Cougars outscored the Kangaroos 37-35 in the second half on 48.4 percent shooting from the floor.
