Tyrell Corbin scored 16 points and UC Davis closed the game on a 12-3 run to defeat UC Santa Cruz 84-78 Tuesday night.
The Aggies (1-3) trailed by as many as 12 in the second half and didn't take the lead for good until Corbin hit a pair of free throws with 2:02 remaining to put them ahead 76-75.
Harrison Dupont added 15 points for UC Davis and Josh Ritchart and Paolo Mancasola each had 11.
UC Santa Cruz (0-1), a Division III school, was led by Tyler Hunt with 15 points, Samuel Allen with 12, Nathan Morhi and Jamien Jones with 11 each, and Brent Jacobs with 10.

The Banana Slugs outshot the Aggies from the field - 51 percent to 44 percent - but hit only 13 of 29 free throws while UC Davis went 29 for 35 from the line.
