Cameron Wells scored 25 points as The Citadel snapped a three-game losing streak Tuesday night with a 71-63 victory over High Point.

The Bulldogs (1-3) led 52-39 with 8:08 left, following a Zach Urbanus jump shot. They had to withstand a High Point rally that brought the Panthers to within three, when Tehran Cox made two free throws to make it 66-63 with 25 seconds left.

Wells and Urbanus helped the Bulldogs hold on, closing the game out by combining to make five free throws. Wells made 12 of 13 free throws for the game.

High Point (2-2) scored the game's first four points, and those represented its biggest and only leads. The Citadel responded with 14 unanswered points and never looked back.
