Devin Gibson scored 24 points, including a clutch jumper to beat the shot clock in the closing seconds, and UTSA defeated Pepperdine 86-81 Saturday night.
Gibson's basket with 21 seconds left gave the Roadrunners (5-2) an 84-81 lead and they held on after Lorne Jackson missed a 3-pointer with 5 seconds left.
Keion Bell led the Waves (3-6) with 31 points and Jackson added a career-high 22.
UTSA knocked down 10 3-pointers in the first half and took a 51-37 advantage at halftime after leading by 16. The Waves chipped away at the lead and got as close as one point in the final minute.

Jeromie Hill added 17 points and Melvin Johnson III had 12 points for the Roadrunners.
UTSA finished with a season-high 11 3s.
