Texas A&M freshman, former four-star recruit, leaves program
After just one semester in College Station, a four-star recruit from the Class of 2015 will look to continue his college career elsewhere.
Jeff Goodman of ESPN reported on Monday night that Texas A&M freshman center Elijah Thomas has elected to transfer.
Thomas was a consensus four-star recruit coming out of Lancaster High School (Texas). He was the final piece in what was an outstanding recruiting class for Billy Kennedy, one that included D.J. Hogg, Tyler Davis and Admon Gilder.
However, Thomas' college career got off to a slow start, seeing his minutes drop as the season has progressed while other big men, like Davis and sophomore center Tonny Trocha-Morelos, have played well early on.
In eight games for the Aggies, Thomas averaged 3.8 points and 2.5 rebounds.
There will be plenty of potential suitors for the 6-foot-9 center, who will have three-and-a-half years of eligibility remaining.

"I love the staff and the school," Thomas told ESPN. "But I just feel as though it's best for me to get a fresh start somewhere else."
