Tennessee State rallies past Middle Tennessee, 74-63

MURFREESBORO, Tenn. (AP) Jordan Reed and Wayne Martin combined to score 45 points and Tennessee State used a strong second half to get past Middle Tennessee, 74-63 on Saturday night.

Martin's 3-pointer with 7:57 got Tennessee State the lead for good, 52-50, and Darreon Reddick converted a 3-point play to make it a five-point lead.

Reed finished with 23 points to lead the Tigers. Martin finished with 22 points, seven in the final eight minutes of the game, and grabbed 13 rebounds.

Tennessee State (4-0) shot 51.1 percent for the game, knocking down 24 of 47 shots from the field, including 3 of 9 from long range.

Jacorey Williams led the Blue Raiders with 18 points on 8 of 15 shooting from the field. Reggie Upshaw added 13 points.

Middle Tennessee (2-1) shot 42.9 percent from the field (24 of 56) and was 8 of 22 from distance.
