Demetrius Conger scored 27 points and St. Bonaventure edged Niagara 72-70 in a Friday night thriller.

The Bonnies (7-5) withstood the Purple Eagles (5-9), who rallied from a 38-25 halftime deficit behind Juan'ya Green and nearly forced overtime. The guard scored 32 points, 26 in the second half. He hit 10 of 17 shots from the field, 2 of 5 3-pointers and 10 of 15 free-throw attempts.

St. Bonaventure won it at the foul line, making 31 of 41 while Niagara was 23 for 33.

After rallying in the second half, Niagara trailed 70-68 following Green's last basket, a layup with 0:27 left. Chris Johnson hit two free throws with 0:20 remaining to make it to 72-68.

In the last 10 seconds, Niagara's Josh Turner missed two 3-pointers, Green another and Malcolm Lemmons a follow before Antoine Mason scored at the buzzer. St. Bonaventure had lost eight straight to Niagara.
