South Florida pulls away from Flagler 75-61
TAMPA, Fla. (AP) Chris Perry scored 18 points and grabbed seven rebounds to lead South Florida to a 75-61 win over Flagler on Friday night.
Nehemias Morillo added 13 points and had 10 rebounds and Corey Allen Jr. added 10 points in the win, which was the Bulls' season opener and coach Orlando Antigua's first game of record for the Bulls.
South Florida never trailed, taking a 45-27 advantage into the break and held off Flagler in the second half.
Flagler, an NCAA Division II team, was led by Dennis Diaz, who shot just 2 of 7 from the field but was a perfect 9-for-9 from the free throw line and finished with 13 points. De'Aires Tate added 12 points and had 10 rebounds for the Saints.
Both teams struggled from long range, with South Florida hitting just 2 of 14 and Flagler sinking just 1 of 12.
