Charlie Westbrook and Jake Thomas scored 25 points each to lead South Dakota to a 90-73 victory over Houston Baptist Thursday night.
Trevor Gruis added 17 points and Ricardo Andreotti had 15 rebounds for the Coyotes (10-10, 2-1 Great West), who led 41-39 at halftime but ran off 12 straight points in a stretch early in the second half.
Thomas was 4 for 10 from 3-point range and 9 for 9 from the free-throw line for South Dakota.
Andrew Gonzalez scored 28 points for the Huskies (2-17, 1-3), but was their only player to score double figures. Houston Baptist's only lead of the game came after Gonzalez's first basket, a 3-pointer for a 3-2 lead.
