Louie Krogman scored 21 points, including four straight free throws in the final minute, as South Dakota rallied for a 76-73 victory over Texas-Pan American on Saturday.
The Coyotes (11-10, 3-1 Great West), who won their third straight, trailed by as many as 13 points early in the second half. But a 3-pointer by Krogman tied the game at 60-60 with 5:48 remaining, and a layup by Krogman with 3:52 remaining gave them the lead for good at 66-64.
Texas-Pan American (3-19, 0-5), which lost for the 13th straight time, twice got within one point in the final minute. But each time Krogman answered with a pair of free throws to clinch it.
Kendall Cutler added 12 points and seven assists for South Dakota.
Aaron Urbanus led Pan-American with 20 points, Brandon Provost added 15, and Matt Mierzycki had 12 points and 12 rebounds.
