Pistons saw something in Hilliard others didn't

Former Villanova Wildcat Darrun Hilliard wasn’t among the 60-plus players invited to the NBA draft combine, and yet, Stan Van Gundy says the Pistons had Hilliard rated among the 25 best prospects in last week’s draft.

They were confident he would be available at No. 38 - and they were right. The Pistons took Hilliard with that pick in the second round, far before most league executives envisioned.
