George Odufuwa scored a season-high 16 points and added 11 rebounds to lead North Texas to a 68-49 victory over Jackson State on Saturday night.
Tristan Thompson added 13 points and Shannon Shorter had 12 for the Mean Green (8-2), who hit their first six shots and opened a 20-point lead in the first half.
Tyrone Hanson scored 18 points to lead the Tigers (2-7).
Odufuwa's double-double was the 22nd of his career.
North Texas held two-point lead before going on a 15-0 run for a 26-9 advantage with 9:55 left in the first half. The Mean Green allowed only 19 points in the first period, the fewest scored by a North Texas opponent since the 2007-08 season, and took a 22-point lead into intermission.
Jackson State cut the lead to 47-33 with 11:51 to play but couldn't get any closer.
