Nebraska coach Doc Sadler says he appreciates the support he received from basketball donor Neal Hawks in a full-page ad in the state's largest newspaper.

Sadler said Monday on the Big Ten coaches' call that several people called him to discuss the ad in Sunday's Omaha World-Herald. He said he hadn't seen the ad or thought much about it because he's concentrating on preparing for Wednesday's game against Iowa.

Hawks is a Nebraska alumnus who lives in Texas. In his open letter, he says the school needs to show more commitment to the struggling basketball program.

The Huskers are 12-15 overall and 4-10 in the Big Ten in Sadler's sixth season at Nebraska.
