Nic Simpson scored a season-high 21 points off the bench as North Carolina A&T rallied from an 11-point deficit to defeat Carver 85-76 in overtime Tuesday night, snapping an eight-game losing streak.

The Aggies (5-11) overpowered the Cougars, of the National Christian College Athletic Association, 16-7 in overtime.

Playing at home for the first time since Nov. 25, NC A&T held Carver to only four points in the first 6 minutes to lead 14-4. The Cougars then used a 19-4 run to push ahead 23-18 at the 5:51 mark and led 37-29 at halftime.

Trailing 59-48 with 8:51 left in regulation, the Aggies tied it with an 11-0 spurt. N.C. A&T built a four-point lead, but the Cougars rallied to force overtime.

After Simpson hit the first two baskets in overtime, Austin Witter's 3 gave the Aggies a lead they never gave up.

Joshua Brown's 15 points led Carver (9-12).
