LaRon Dendy scored 12 points and had back-to-back blocks with 37 seconds remaining as the Blue Raiders (21-3, 10-0 Sun Belt) nursed a two-point lead.
The Mean Green (13-10, 6-4) missed two shots in the final 10 seconds, and Kerry Hammond hit two free throws to make the score 68-64 and clinch it for Middle Tennessee, which is unbeaten after 10 conference games for the first time.
Alzee Williams had 29 points and Tony Mitchell added 16 points, 11 rebounds and five blocks for North Texas.

Raymond Cintron scored 10 points, and Hammonds and Shawn Jones nine apiece for the Blue Raiders, who shot 50 percent (28 of 56) from the floor.
