Louisiana Tech defeats Texas-San Antonio 87-72

SAN ANTONIO (AP) Chris Anderson scored a career-high 26 points and grabbed 11 rebounds to lead Louisiana Tech to an 87-72 victory over Texas-San Antonio on Saturday.

Kenyon McNeail came off the bench to add 15 points for the Bulldogs (18-5, 6-2 Conference USA). Jaron Johnson and Cordarius Johnson each had 11 and Alex Hamilton had 10.

Louisiana Tech had a 57-32 lead at the break but UTSA went on a 22-6 run to start the second period to pull within nine with 12:22 left to play. Then Anderson and McNeail mounted a 14-6 run in 4 minutes to extend the Bulldogs' dominance to 82-65 with 5 minutes remaining.

The Bulldogs shot 52.5 percent from the field and 64 percent from the line. Defensively, the team posted 12 steals, contributing to UTSA's 16 turnovers.

Leading the Roadrunners (7-13, 3-4) was Keon Lewis with 24 points.
