Brandon Davis scored 16 points and Mike James added 10 to lead Lamar to a 60-49 victory against Texas-Pan American on Monday night.
Devon Lamb had 14 rebounds for the Cardinals (6-3).
Jared Maree had 13 points and Brandon Provost and Nick Weiermiller added 10 each for the Broncs (2-8).
Both teams were frigid from the floor, as Lamar shot 31.6 percent (18 of 57) and Texas-Pan American 33.3 percent (18 of 54). But the Cardinals won the rebounding battle 55-28 and had a 15-2 edge in second-chance points.

Maree's 3-pointer got the Broncs within three with 12:02 remaining, but Lamar scored 11 of the game's next 13 points to take permanent control. Lamb's three-point play with 7:40 to play ended the surge and gave the Cardinals a 51-39 edge.
