James Madison 59, William & Mary 47
Andrey Semenov scored 15 points and A.J. Davis added 14 for James Madison in a 59-47 win over William & Mary Thursday night.
Neither team shot well, but the Dukes held a 38.5 percent (20 of 52) to 29.8 percent (14 of 47) edge over the Tribe from the floor.
The teams were very close the entire way, with the Tribe holding a 34-33 lead with just less than 14 minutes left after Brandon Britt sank a pair of foul shots. But Semenov hit a mid-range jumper and sank a 3-pointer, helping the Dukes (10-11, 3-7 Colonial Athletic Conference) put together a game-altering 10-0 run from that juncture.
James Madison led the rest of the way, outscoring William & Mary 35-25 in the second half to seal it. The Dukes led 24-22 at halftime.
Britt paced William & Mary (4-18, 2-8) with 14 points, and Tim Rusthoven had 10.
