Lamont Jones and Sean Armand each scored 20 points and high-scoring Iona dominated William & Mary throughout in an 83-65 victory Wednesday night.

The Gaels (10-2) just missed equaling their scoring average of 86.2 points per game, fifth-best in the country. They raced to a 41-34 halftime lead, then outscored William & Mary (2-10) 42-31 in the second half.

Jones and Armand were two of five Gaels in double figures, Armand scoring all 20 of his points in the second half. He was 6 of 7 from 3-point range as Iona shot a sizzling 62.5 per cent from beyond the arc (15 of 24). Overall, the Gaels shot 51.6 per cent from the field, going 32 for 62.

Although point guard Scott Machado hit just two baskets, he dished out 10 assists and grabbed 10 rebounds.

Quinn McDowell led the Tribe with 18 points.
