Hawaii 72, Hawaii Pacific 50
Zane Johnson scored a season-high 18 points to lead Hawaii to a 72-50 win over Hawaii Pacific Saturday night.
Johnson scored all of his points on 3-pointers, going 6-of-9 from behind the arc. The senior guard also grabbed nine rebounds to help the Rainbow Warriors (6-2) rout the crosstown Division II Sea Warriors (3-4).
Hiram Thompson scored 13 of his 15 points in the second half. Vander Joaquim had 10 points and Douglas Kurtz grabbed 12 rebounds for Hawaii.
Hawaii used a 9-0 run on three Johnson 3-pointers to close out the first half with a 37-26 lead. Joston Thomas' putback capped a 9-0 Rainbow Warrior run to open the second half.
Hawaii outrebounded Hawaii Pacific 51-34 and held the Sea Warriors to 30 percent shooting from the field.
Kyle Allen scored 15 points and Jason Jackson 14 to lead Hawaii Pacific.
