Hawaii 68, San Jose St. 67
Hiram Thompson made two free throws with 2.1 seconds remaining to lift Hawaii to a 68-67 win over San Jose State on Sunday night.
Jeremy Lay and Brandon Adams scored 19 points each for the Rainbow Warriors (9-9, 2-3 Western Athletic Conference). Thompson finished with 14 points and Roderick Flemings added 10.
Justin Graham scored 21 points, Adrian Oliver had 20 and Chris Oakes 14 for the Spartans (9-8, 2-3).
After Lay's 3-pointer with 2:27 left gave Hawaii a 66-65 lead, San Jose State moved back ahead on Chris Oakes' fastbreak dunk with 21 seconds to go.
Hawaii turned it over on its next possession, but Oliver missed the front end of a 1-and-1 and Adams grabbed the rebound for the Warriors. He passed it ahead to Thompson, who drew a foul on the drive to his right under the basket.
