John Daniels made one of two free throws with 2 seconds left to give Columbia a 73-72 win over Stony Brook on Saturday.

Tied at 72, Brian Barbour missed a layup for the Lions (4-4) and Daniels, who came down with the offensive rebound, was fouled by Danny Carter.

Columbia led 72-65 with 2:53 before the Seawolves (3-4) scored seven straight.

Stony Brook led by 17, 35-18, with 5:29 left in the first half but Columbia went on a 19-2 run to tie it. Steve Frankoski's 3 made it 37-37 with 1:22 left until halftime. Frankoski made three of Columbia's five 3-pointers during the spurt.

Frankoski finished with 21 points, with all of them coming on 3s. The Lions shot 42.3 percent from long range (11 of 26).

Bryan Dougher and Carter scored 13 points each for the Seawolves, who snapped a two-game winning streak in the series. Rapier added 10 for Stony Brook.
