Cole Norris scored 19 points, including 10 of his team's final 15, and Cleveland State held off Louisiana-Lafayette 60-55 on Friday night.
The Vikings are off to a 5-0 start for the first time in school history. The team was 4-0 both in 1963 and 1985.
Norris, who came into the game averaging 22.3 points per game, was 8 of 9 from the free-throw line including 6 for 6 in the final 29 seconds.
Aaron Pogue added 13 points and Trevon Harmon had 10 for the Vikings.

Cleveland State outrebounded Louisiana-Lafayette 39-35, but held a 13-4 edge in second-chance points. The Vikings also scored 16 points off 16 turnovers by the Ragin' Cajuns.
La'Ryan Gary scored 19 points and Randell Daigle added 10 for the Ragin' Cajuns (1-3), who have lost two in a row.
