Campbell 97, Middle Tennessee 90

Eric Griffin led five players in double figures with 20 points and Campbell beat Middle Tennessee 97-90 on Friday in the Global Sports Hoops Showcase.

The Camels (1-2) rallied from a 16-point deficit in the first half to lead 46-39 at halftime.

Campbell built a 13-point lead before the Blue Raiders went on a 17-4 run to tie the score 57-57 on a 3-pointer by James Washington with 12:48 remaining.

The Camels answered with a 17-6 run, capped by a 3-pointer by Griffin, to push the lead to 74-63 with 7:08 to play. Campbell's lead never dipped below six points after that.

The Camels shot 64 percent from the field (32 for 50).

Lorne Merthie added 17 points, Martell Jackson had 15, Keishawn Mayes 14 and Preston Dodson 11 for the Camels.

Washington led the Blue Raiders (1-2) with 20 points, while Kerry Hammonds and Jason Jones each scored 12.
