Jacob Iati scored a career-high 26 points, hitting six 3-pointers, as Albany (N.Y.) defeated Navy 71-61 Friday night.

The Great Danes (10-3), coming off a 59-57 loss to Quinnipiac on Dec. 21 that snapped a six-game winning streak, posted their 10th nonconference victory - the most before conference play in the school's Division I era.

Tied at 11 with 12:42 left in the first half, Albany launched a 12-0 run, including two 3-pointers by Iati and one by Peter Hooley. The Midshipmen (6-8) trimmed the deficit to 25-19 at the 3:05 mark, but the Great Danes closed out the half on an 11-5 run.

After Albany opened the second half with a 14-7 burst, Navy again got within six, 51-45, with 7:29 left, but could get no closer as Luke Devlin scored 11 of his 13 points in a 20-8 Great Danes run.
