Tremaine Moorer scored 12 points to lead Alabama State to a 61-53 win over Albany State (Ga.) on Thursday night.

Ivory White scored 11 points and grabbed eight rebounds and Ivan Johnson added 10 points for the Hornets (3-10).

Alabama State led 29-18 at halftime and by as many as 55-40 with 5:34 left to play. The Hornets finished 22 of 51 from the floor (43.1 percent) despite shooting 11 for 29 in the first half (37.9 percent).

Oscar Morris scored 10 points and was the only player in double figures for the Division II Golden Rams (3-5).

Albany State outrebounded the Hornets 45-39, but shot just 30.8 percent from the field (20 of 65), including a 7-for-36 effort in the opening half (19.4 percent).

With the score tied a 6, the Hornets went on a 18-4 run to take a 24-10 lead as they led by no fewer than four the rest of the way.
