Signs new Vancouver deal Takaoka signed a new contract with the Whitecaps until June 2027, the club announced Thursday.
Impact Takaoka played a big role in the Whitecaps reaching the 2025 MLS Finals. Between the regular season and the playoffs, the Japanese goalkeeper recorded 14 clean sheets (13 in the regular season), making 99 saves while allowing 45 goals across 39 appearances. He should remain as the Whitecaps' No. 1 goalkeeper for the foreseeable future.
