Impact Wissa has shown good improvement in his recovery as he returned to training on grass this week. The forward, however, remains out for several weeks as he continues to take gradual steps toward regaining full fitness. Nick Woltemade will benefit from increased playing time until his return.

Suffers setback Wissa (knee) has suffered a setback and is now expected to miss eight weeks instead of four to five weeks, according to Keith Downie of Sky Sports.
Impact Wissa will miss out a bit longer than initially expected, with the forward now expected to be sidelined for eight weeks and miss out until the start of November. This will leave him aiming for a return against West Ham on Nov. 2 or Athletic Club on Nov. 5 in UCL action, missing at least a month more of action. The forward still has yet to debut for his new club, extending the wait a bit longer. Nick Woltemade should continue to serve at forward until Wissa is ready for action again.

Impact Wissa won't need to undergo surgery for his knee injury as the forward is currently under treatment and aims to be fit to make his debut with the Magpies against Brighton on Oct. 18 after the international break. This is positive news for Newcastle since his absence is not expected to extend beyond this timeframe if he avoids setbacks. That said, newcomer Nick Woltemade and Anthony Gordon will continue seeing decent playing time until Wissa returns.

Impact Wissa has now been confirmed to be out for the next few weeks, with the forward set to be out until after the next break when facing Brighton on Oct. 18. This will leave him out for just over a month, still awaiting his debut with the club after a transfer on deadline day. That said, Nick Woltemade and Anthony Gordon will likely continue to see time at forward until Wissa returns to action.

Impact Wissa is set for more than a month on the sideline with the knee injury. That means he will miss one of the busiest periods of the schedule, including two Champions League matches. Nick Woltemade is expected to lead the line, with Anthony Gordon also available if needed to play up front.
SEPTEMBER 17, 2025 • ROTOWIRE
Out four to five weeks Wissa (knee) is out for the next four to five weeks due to a knee injury, according to Lee Ryder of the Chronicle.
Impact Wissa has undergone assessment and, luckily, has avoided a major ACL injury but will still miss time, expected to return in around four to five weeks. This is a rough development after just joining the team, still yet to make his club debut. He will now look to return near the end of October, with Nick Woltemade likely to see more time while Wissa is out.

Impact Wissa has suffered a knee injury while on international duty with RD Congo and needs to see some specialists in the coming hours to know the extend of that injury. The new striker of the Magpies will miss the game against Wolves on Saturday. That said, his absence will therefore leave some space to Nick Woltemade to take a larger role from scratch in the frontline.

Impact Wissa has yet to play for Brentford this season, and that'll be the case until the transfer window closes on Sep. 1. The forward scored 18 goals across 35 appearances in the 2024-25 campaign for the Bees, so there's no doubt he'd still have a role if available, but the manager wants to solve his transfer situation first before integrating him to the first-squad dynamics. This means the first chance he'll have to make his season debut will come against Chelsea on Saturday, Sep. 13, after the break.

Impact Wissa remains out of the squad for Saturday's match against Aston Villa, even though he returned to Brentford training earlier this week. His lack of full training in recent weeks and the ongoing transfer speculation surrounding the forward are unlikely to quiet down before the window shuts, so the coach decided to leave him out of the match squad.

Impact Wissa seemed to have a change of heart in that he was back in training with Brentford this week. That doesn't exactly mean he'll feature against Aston Villa, but there's a chance he'll be in the plans for Brentford. Given that he hasn't been training fully for a couple weeks, it's hard to see him making the XI in addition to the ongoing rumors that probably won't stop until the window ends.
