Impact Sands has finally rejoined the team to start training again following an ACL tear that required surgery. The defender had come into last season as the club's regular starter at left-back before picking up the knee issue in late April and will hope to be able to recapture that spot despite most likely missing the first couple weeks of the season. The latest development in the player's recovery does bring some hope to a possible return on Feb. 24 against Atlanta, as his status was pretty well hidden until the start of preseason training. However, if he is not available by that point, expect Yaw Yeboah to get the start at left-back to begin the season, as he held that spot after Sands's injury, which will most likely lead to a battle between the two players for the starting role once Sand does rejoin the team sheet.
