Takuma Asano - Makes appearance off bench
Asano (groin) made a 19-minute substitute appearance against VfB Stuttgart on Sunday in which he registered one interception, one chance created three passes.
Impact
Asano hasn't featured in the starting XI since the season opener versus Wolfsburg and will need to outperform Erhan Masovic and Christopher Antwi-Adjei in order to earn a start against RB Leipzig on Saturday.

Cristian Gamboa - Training with first team
Gamboa (arm) participated in portions of Wednesday's practice session ahead of a clash with RB Leipzig on Saturday.
Impact
Gamboa has missed the club's last four matches due to his arm injury and may have to settle for another game on the sideline considering he just rejoined the training. Once cleared the play, the defender should be in the mix to rejoin the starting XI but in the meantime, Herbert Bockhorn and Kostas Stafylidis will both be candidates to fill the right-back spot.

ROTOWIRE
Manuel Riemann - Bounces back with clean sheet
Riemann made three saves and recorded one clean sheet in the 0-0 draw with Stuttgart on Sunday.
Impact
Riemann bounced back massively after a battering from Bayern Munich a week prior. The keeper responded with a few high-danger saves and he backstopped his way to his second clean sheet of the season. Although Riemann is averaging 2.16 goals against per match, he is also countering that with 4.16 saves per match. As long as he can continue making multiple saves every match, he will remain an option at the position.

Eduard Lowen - Takes six corners Sunday
Lowen produced three shots (two on target), created three chances, sent eight crosses (three accurate), took six corners and made two tackles (none won) in the 0-0 draw against Stu...
Impact
Lowen was the best player for Bochum in their draw Sunday. The defender not only produced a great all-around effort, but he also took the majority of set-pieces. After four appearances -- two starts -- it is very apparent that when Lowen starts, he generates the most production and value for Bochum. As long as he is in the starting XI, he is a great option worth considering.

ROTOWIRE
Danilo Soares - Makes five tackles in 0-0 draw
Soares created one chance, sent two crosses (one accurate) and made five tackles (four won) in the 0-0 draw with Stuttgart on Sunday.
Impact
Soares was tremendous in some areas and lackluster in others. The defender who is most commonly known for his flank play, only had a few opportunities created. However, he dominated with his off-the-ball aggression and just missed a perfect night of tackles. If he can return to producing an all-around effort, he will be a perfect candidate moving forward.

ROTOWIRE
Erhan Masovic - Receives first yellow card
Masovic made four tackles (two won), intercepted twice and received one yellow card during the 0-0 draw with Stuttgart on Sunday.
Impact
Masovic was perfect during the draw Sunday. The defender was rock solid on the backline in his first start of the season. He did not jump up for many set-pieces, but he shined with his off-the-ball work. If you are in need of defensive stats, Masovic is the perfect candidate.

ROTOWIRE
Sebastian Polter - Misses chance with header
Polter took four shots (none on target) and created one chance in the 0-0 draw with Stuttgart on Sunday.
Impact
Polter had his best performance so far this season in the draw. The forward had a few chances, but he butchered his best from a corner. Outside of shots, he does not produce much and he is more or less a boom-or-bust option.

Manuel Riemann - Battered by Bayern
Riemann allowed seven goals while making eight saves during Saturday's 7-0 loss to Bayern Munich.
Impact
Riemann four goals in the first half and three in the second as Bochum were destroyed by Bayern on Saturday. The keeper has now allowed 13 goals in five league starts while his eight saves upped his season total to 22.

ROTOWIRE
Simon Zoller - Out indefinitely
Zoller sustained a torn cruciate ligament in training and will be sidelined indefinitely.
Impact
While the club didn't provide a specific timeline for his recovery, Zoller should be expected to miss 6-9 months following surgery to repair the damage to his knee. As such, the forward figures to miss the remainder of the 2021-22 campaign, though an April or May return isn't out of the question.

ROTOWIRE
Eduard Lowen - Logs all-around stat line
Lowen attempted 13 crosses, six shots and five corner kicks during a 3-1 loss Sunday versus Hertha Berlin.
Impact
Lowen was the Bochum team's most dangerous footballer based on its player stat lines. Similar ones will help him log starts and prove that he is a worthwhile purchase. Lowen could start in place of Milos Pantovic if able to continue playing well.

ROTOWIRE
Danilo Soares - Attempts six crosses, three shots
Soares attempted six crosses and three shots during a 3-1 loss Sunday versus Hertha Berlin.
Impact
Soares attempted more crosses and shots than he did across his previous three Bundesliga appearances. Considering the left-back is already considered Bochum's most valuable defender, adding value with those statistical categories will help uphold that statement.

ROTOWIRE
Manuel Riemann - Concedes three goals
Riemann conceded three goals during a 3-1 loss Sunday versus Hertha Berlin.
Impact
Considering the Hertha Berlin team was winless across its previous six Bundesliga games, Riemann's stat line against it was surprisingly disappointing. He will remain an unfavorable option when playing against league champions Bayern Munich next Saturday.

ROTOWIRE
Simon Zoller - Continues contributing to goals
Zoller scored one goal during a 3-1 loss Sunday versus Hertha Berlin.
Impact
Zoller contributed to at least one goal during each of Bochum's last three domestic-league games. Despite playing 2. Bundesliga soccer less than four months ago, he has been a fantastic fantasy contributor before an unfavorable matchup Saturday against Bayern Munich.

ROTOWIRE
Takuma Asano - Still out with groin issue
Asano remains on the shelf due to a lingering groin problem ahead of Sunday's matchup with Hertha Berlin.
Impact
Asano has logged just 54 minutes on the pitch through the first three games of the year, in part due to his groin injury. With Simon Zoller cemented as the No. 1 forward option, Asano may have to settle for being a reserve option off the bench more often than not.

ROTOWIRE
Danny Blum - Featuring in friendly
Blum (undisclosed) will be in the starting XI for Thursday's friendly against Go Ahead Eagles.
Impact
Blum has yet to crack the starting XI this year for Bochum but could be in the mix versus Hertha Berlin on Sept. 12 barring any setbacks. Even with his injury behind him, the forward is far from a lock to start and may have to settle for a bench role more often than not.

ROTOWIRE
Robert Tesche - Eligible to return
Tesche has served his two-match ban and is available versus Hertha Berlin on Sept. 11.
Impact
It took just four minutes into Bochum's first Bundesliga match since 2010 for Tesche to be sent off with a red card. The midfielder should be in contention to slide back into the starting XI versus Hertha Berlin and no doubt will be hoping to stay on the pitch a little further into the contest.

ROTOWIRE
Manuel Riemann - Posts average game in loss
Riemann made three saves and conceded twice during the 2-1 loss to FC Koln on Saturday.
Impact
Riemann is experiencing quite the rollercoaster of form since the start of the season. After having a huge season debut, he has dropped form. In his three starts so far, he is averaging, 4.33 saves and 1.0 goals against per 90 minutes in all competitions. Those are great numbers, but it is hard to tell which keeper you will get game in and game out.

ROTOWIRE
Simon Zoller - Drops first goal in 2-1 win
Zoller scored once, produced two shots (one on target), created three chances and sent two crosses (one accurate) in the 2-1 loss to FC Koln on Saturday.
Impact
Zoller did very little yesterday and his fantasy relevance did not show until stoppage time when he set up the sole goal for Bochum. The forward has struggled to produce any sort of peripherals, even with his role on set-pieces. However, he at least makes up for it with his two assists and one goal thus far. While he is on the score sheet he is a great option, but his regression is coming sooner than you think.

ROTOWIRE
Danilo Soares - Doubles down defensively in win
Soares created one chance, made three tackles (two won) and intercepted three times in the 2-1 loss to FC Koln on Saturday.
Impact
Soares did not do much offensively, but he certainly made that up on the defensive end of things. In his first three appearances this season he is averaging, 0.66 created chances, 0.66 crosses, 2.66 tackles and 2.0 interceptions per 90 minutes in all competitions. Those are some solid defensive numbers with a dash of offensive upside. If you need an all-around defensive player he is a great option.

ROTOWIRE
Christopher Antwi-Adjej - Picks up first assist of season
Antwi-Adjei assisted once, took one shot (none on target), created one chance and made one tackle (one won) in the 2-1 loss to FC Koln on Saturday.
Impact
Antwi-Adjei was saved by his assist in the performance. Granted he was handed very little time to make a true impact for the club. The midfielder has only made two appearances so far this season -- one start --. However, he has yet to produce anything major to put him into consideration for more time. Until he can produce and do so consistently, he is to be passed for safer options.

Patrick Osterhage - Makes bench Saturday
Osterhage (muscular) is on the bench for Saturday's match against Koln.
Impact
Osterhage makes the squad for the first time this season Saturday, though his playing time remains unclear. It's likely he'll play in more of a bench role for Bochum and even then, he's unlikely to hold fantasy value in this midfield.
