Wolfsburg in relegation danger after 0-0 draw with Augsburg

WOLFSBURG, Germany (AP) Wolfsburg remains close to the Bundesliga's relegation zone after being held to a lackluster 0-0 draw by visiting Augsburg on Friday.

Wolfsburg is just three points above Mainz in the relegation playoff place, and could yet find itself level because Mainz plays fellow struggler Freiburg on Monday.

Augsburg `keeper Marwin Hitz tipped forward Landry Dimata's effort over the bar after 30 minutes, while counterpart Koen Casteels saved from midfielder Jonathan Schmid shortly after the break.

Augsburg's hopes took a blow in the 54th minute when midfielder Jan Moravek was sent off, getting his second yellow card just minutes after the first.

Still, Augsburg substitute Marco Richter hit the crossbar with a chip over the goalkeeper and Paul Jaeckel then did the same at the other end.

Defender Felix Uduokhai's late red card left both sides with ten men for the last few minutes.
