Impact Sanchez finished November with less than multiple saves averaged and one goal conceded per game. But in Chelsea's first game of December, he returned to excellent form by logging his first clean sheet since Sept. 21 at West Ham. This is as good a time as any for Sanchez to step up, with the Blues set for a jam-packed month and two consecutive away games (at Southampton no Wednesday and Tottenham next Sunday) scheduled after hosting Aston Villa.

November saw a decline in Sanchez's production, which consisted of less than multiple saves (1.7) averaged and one goal conceded per game. He will try to redeem himself during December, beginning with a month-opening fixture against Aston Villa.

Impact Sanchez saved shots from Mikel Merino and Gabriel Martinelli. However, the latter got two shots on goal, and his other effort was a near-post shot that was slotted home. Sanchez has hit a rough patch as of late, with his last four appearances including only nine saves to go with five goals conceded and zero clean sheets. Sanchez will look to get back on track after the international break, beginning with Chelsea's game at Leicester City on Nov. 23.

Impact Sanchez conceded once and made a single save Sunday as Chelsea squeezed past Newcastle for a tight 2-1 victory. Though Chelsea were able to hang on for the victory, Sanchez completed just 50% of his passes and six of his 25 long balls attempted. Manager Enzo Maresca took responsibility for the keeper's performance post-match, stating, "If Robert makes a mistake, it's not Robert's problem, it's my mistake because I asked that from Robert. I am very happy with Robert and the way he is playing, building from the back." If Sanchez remains the first choice for Chelsea between the sticks, his next league matchup will come Sunday as Chelsea travel to take on Manchester United who recently relieved manager Erik ten Hag of his duties.

Impact Normally, three saves is an adequate output from a goalkeeper. However, Sanchez's three marks his lowest in the category since Sept. 1. On top of that, he and Chelsea's defenders did not take enough preventative measures to stop Liverpool's team from logging its two goals. Levi Colwill conceded a penalty-kick opportunity, which Mohamed Salah successfully converted. Miscommunication between Sanchez and Chelsea's defensive line allowed the aforementioned Jones open space for another goal. The goalkeeper will look to improve next week in another Sunday matchup, this time scheduled for Stamford Bridge against Newcastle United.

Impact With a stellar performance Sunday, eight is now Sanchez's season high in saves. He has logged seven or eight of them across all but one of his last four appearances. The four-game span not only has Chelsea's primary goalkeeper averaging 6.5 saves but also included him conceding less than a goal per game for two clean sheets and an 89.7 save percentage. Sanchez needed all the positive form he could get, with an international break coming up and league leaders Liverpool to compete against after it.

The keeper will face off with Brighton for the next league match on Saturday, who have scored 10 goals in the last five contests.

Impact Sanchez made an outstanding contribution to his team Saturday. He caused a penalty through fouling a goal bound Evanilson, and then saved the ensuing spot kick. This was complemented by six other assertive saves to help the Blues leave the game with all three points. The regular starter has not been particularly impressive this season, he has conceded five from Chelsea's first four matches but this was by far his best performance. He will need to be on his toes for their next against West Ham, the Hammers have scored in all their cup and league games this season.
