Returning to Barcelona Romeu has signed a three-year contract with Barcelona after transferring from Girona, the club announced Wednesday.

Impact Romeu was a constant in Girona's midfield last season as he scored two goals and kept four clean sheets in 33 La Liga appearances (all starts) in his return to Spain. The former Southampton man is now coming back to Barcelona, where he made two senior team appearances back in 2010/11 after coming up through the academy. The 31-year-old will be a depth option for his new side as he'll compete with the likes of Sergi Roberto and Franck Kessie for playing time behind Pedri, Gavi, Ilkay Gundogan and Frenkie de Jong.
